Stop Spreading Lies About The DPRK!

"The UN Charter recognizes the rights of national self-determination and

choice, the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and all international

human rights instruments set the non-politicization of human rights as their

elementary principles. But now in UN, some debates are running counter to this.

Any attempt to make an issue of systems of specific countries and to

interfere in their internal affairs under the disguise of the "protection of human

rights" is, in itself, a violation of human rights denying the right of people of

those countries to choose their own system.  UN should pay attention to the fact that on its human rights agenda there

are only "problems" of small countries without mentioning about big countries, the west and European countries.

Due attention should also be given to the reality in which the role of non-

aligned and other developing countries is enhanced on the international arena. "

Stop Spreading Lies About the DPRK!

By Jan Freidun Taravosh december 4th 2009

Introduction:

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, time and time again becomes subject to malicious lies, demonisation and vilifying from the imperialist media in the west. The borgiousie etablishment of the western hempishere who wanted to declare socialism dead decades ago find themselves desperate time and time again in trying to make the independent state of the DPRK look bad, this is done not only by dangerous treats of War and refusal to sign a peace treaty and end the occupation of the southern part of the country. The western media continue to portray the DPRK as a country where time has stood still since the end of the 2nd world war, and keep on spreading lies of the DPRK as an isolated state turned away from the modern world.

The DPRK: Defending Peace and security of the Korean Peninsula and the Rest of the World

Yet this is only done, to hide the truth, of DPRK as a independent, peace loving and progressive state.

Speaking of which, the myth of the DPRK as an isolated state can easily be dispelled if anyone took time to actually listened to what the Koreans themselves had to say on the matter. A most clear perspective on the foreign policy of the DPRK was given by the DPRK delegation to the 64 session of the General Assembly in September 2009, as presented by PAK KIL YON who said the following.

The foreign policy of the DPRK, as in the past and now, so also in the

future, will be committed to the principles of independence, peace and

friendship.

The DPRK government will make active efforts to further strengthen and

develop friendly and cooperative relations with all UN member states under

these principles and discharge its full responsibility in defending peace and

security of the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world”

The above statement makes clear the basic principles of foreign policy of the peaceloving nation that is the DPRK, like other nations within the NAM. it is a foreign policy, which remains founded on solid foundation of mutual respect and mutual benefit between soverign nations all over the world-

Thus the DPRK have diplomatic relations and dynamic exchange with a vast number of nation who all respect the independence of the Korean People and promote understanding peace and mutual friendship. It reminds you that there is a world beyond western imperalism, which is generally unheard of in the established media.

“The masses aspire the positive and they are capable of overcoming the negative and creating the positive”

returning to the subject of Isolation: this is not a “self imposed isolation”. The only form of isolation the Korean People are subject to is    the policy of illegal sanctions towards The independent Korean nation, which is used by the U.S. Imperialist as  a means of trying, to subjugate the Korean people and unlawfully encroach on their hard-won independence. It’s a type of Warfare enforced on the DPRK since the armistice, and signifies persistent hostility from the United States.

While this policy of illegal sanctions and economic warfare  affected a selected few of U.S. allies to act in the same shameful manner, it does not mean that the DPRK refuses to cooperation with other friendly and peace seeking nations.  While Korean Juche ideology emphasises. self reliance and holds independence in high esteem - this does in no way mean that the People of Korea cannot work together with other nations - this is just a myth that is being spread by the U.S Imperialists and has gained resonance among people in some  western nations who have no real understanding of the realities of the DPRK and who lack basic  knowledge  principles of Juche.

But as Kim Il Sung put it in his book On Socialist Pedagogy

“The masses aspire the positive and they are capable of overcoming the negative and creating the positive”
